Happy New Year

We're two weeks into 2008 and already every IC person I speak to is up to their eyeballs in work!

After a well deserved break, it is now very much back to work and planning the year ahead.  If it isn't preparing new stategies and plans, it is launching a new campaign to start the new year with.

New Year is all about making resolutions too, and ours at InternalCommunications is to finally get our newsletter off the ground - and fix the subscription box above to at least give you some indication that we have received your email details!

Remember, we also have the forum site here, so you never know - if you ask a question, you might just get the answer you need.

Finally, as this site is very much for IC people, please let us know if you would like to contribute any content or have any ideas to make it work better for you - all are welcome.

And last, but by no means least, I would like to wish all IC folk a very Happy New Year.

We're still here

It's been six months since we launched www.InternalCommunications.co.uk and we have seen a huge number of hits.  We are very excited by the number of people who have signed up for our newsletter from all over the globe and we are working on developing these so that they provide a full and useful medium to people in the IC world.

We have also had a number of articles submitted and are excited that we have recently received contributions from India - a country which is experiencing siginifcant growth, so it is great to see Internal Comms is growing strongly too!

So please take a moment to read the the two articles from Aniisu (see features panel) entitled "Yin and Yang of Internal Communications - making employees advocates of the brand" and "New Media and Internal Communications: Absorb - Adapt - Apply"

Finally, I wish you all a Happy Christmas, and hope you are all busy preparing your holiday communications for the bosses to send out on Christmas Eve!

Launching InternalCommunications.co.uk

On Tuesday 15 May 2007, a beta version of the new information sharing site, InternalCommunications.co.uk, a site dedicated to internal communication professionals, was launched.
 
The new and free site has been designed to be maintained and supported by those who use it. Simon Wright, creator and editor of the site said "one of the biggest challenges Internal Communication professionals face, is the ability to talk to others in the industry. The market is still quite immature and this makes it difficult to find people who understand the issues and are able to provide advice and support.” 
 
InternalCommunications.co.uk has been designed to do just that.
 
By encouraging anyone in the industry to submit content, contribute in the Forum, share relevant and useful links, we are creating a community which enables us to help each other.
